Jacob's “chum”- that's Sven Hartmann. Sven was born in Tessin in 1943. He studied and also taught at the School of Design in both Basel and ZŸrich. He worked as a set designer, decorated display windows, designed and produced lamps and life-size puppets, made animated films and now devotes himself to drawing and painting. This multi-talented and very successful artist divides his time between Zurich and Munich. By the way, Sven Hartmann is not exclusively in Jacob's hands - er, make that paws - he also develops other figures and logos for advertising and industry. A well-known example is the new logo of the the Swiss homeopathy company Similisan, and their charming mascots "Sim" and "San". They have been used with great success in Similisan's own customer newspaper as well as other printed advertising materials. Jacob's cryptic comments flow from the pen of Thomas Haertner, born 1940 in Gera. After completing his acting and directing studies at the Folkwang School in Essen, he has worked both in theater and as a writer. Thomas Haertner now directs theater and teaches acting in Switzerland and in Lichtenstein.
